Tech Talk Setup
- You use the video chat function of Computer Booters you need to be a member, and be logged into the website.
- If you need a login set up you can go to: https://computerbooters.org/mbr-reg, or use the link on the www.computerbooters.org website in the upper right-hand corner to request your login credentials.
- Our web director will set up your login credentials for the site and will send you an email with your login information.
- Once you have your login credentials, return to the login link on the site, and log in.
- To get to the video chat page;
- Go to the upper left-hand corner, and hover your mouse pointer on the “Members Only” Tab. A drop-down menu will appear, and click on the sub-tab labeled “Tech Talk”. This action will take you to the “Tech Talk” page.
- You can also find the link in the top menu under ‘Resources‘
- Once on the page you will need to add your name and click the button to enter the room.
- Through this process you will get the following pop-ups to allow ‘computerbooters’ to use your microphone and camera (see images).

Note: You are able to use the dropdown to specify how long to allow camera and microphone access. It is suggested you use the default of ‘Until I close the site’.

- You will need to click “Allow” so that Tech Talk can allow an audio and video connection thru your computer to the video chat interface.
- Once in the room you will be able to participate in the Question & Answer session just like being on a Zoom video conference call.
- As you spend more time on the Tech Talk Chat Room, you will learn the commands, options and settings for the using the video chat.
- Leaving the Tech Talk Chat Room is just like leaving a Zoom call.
